This page explains, in plain language, what information gets collected through this site, what it's used for, and who it's shared with. Johan K is a small, one-person studio, this isn't a page written by a legal team, but everything on it is accurate to how things actually work.

What's collected

If you send an email or fill out the project brief linked on this site, the information you provide, your name, email, and whatever you write about your project, is received directly. That's it. This site doesn't run analytics, doesn't use tracking cookies, and doesn't collect anything passively just from you visiting the page.

The project brief

The project brief is hosted on Typeform, a third-party form provider. When you submit it, your responses are stored on Typeform's platform and forwarded on. Typeform's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data on their end, available at typeform.com/legal/privacy.

How it's used

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss a potential project
• To prepare a quote or proposal if you decide to move forward
• To deliver the actual work, if you become a client

Nothing collected through this site is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. There's no mailing list you get silently added to.

How long it's kept

Enquiries that don't turn into a project are generally kept only as long as needed to respond, and are deleted or archived after that. Client information is kept for as long as reasonably needed for the project and any ongoing support arrangement, and can be deleted on request once that relationship ends.

Your rights

You can ask, at any time, what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email contact@johank.design and it'll be handled directly, no automated system in between.

If anything here changes, meaningfully, this page will be updated and the date at the top will reflect it.

Terms of Service

These are the actual terms a project runs on, written the same way everything else on this site is written, plainly, and matching how things really work rather than how a template says they should.

How a project starts

Work begins once scope, price, and timeline have been agreed in writing, over email is fine. Nothing gets built on a verbal "sounds good," both sides should be able to point back to what was actually agreed.

Payment

Projects are typically split into two payments: half upfront before work starts, and the remainder on delivery. The exact figures for your project are confirmed in the quote before anything begins, not adjusted afterward without discussing it with you first.

Revisions and scope

Each project agreement specifies how many rounds of revisions are included. Requests that fall outside the agreed scope, new pages, new features, a different direction entirely, are treated as separate, additional work and quoted accordingly before starting, not silently absorbed or silently charged for.

Ownership

Once a project is paid in full, the final delivered files, the actual website, belong to you. Until final payment is made, ownership of the work remains with Johan K. Any pre-existing tools, code snippets, or internal frameworks used to build the site remain Johan K's own, separate from what's handed over.

Cancellation

If a project is cancelled after work has started, the upfront deposit is non-refundable, it covers time already spent. Work completed beyond the deposit up to the point of cancellation is billed proportionally.

Timelines

Timelines are agreed upfront based on the actual scope. If something on your end delays the project, content not arriving, feedback taking longer than expected, the original timeline may shift accordingly, and that gets communicated as soon as it's clear, not after the deadline's already passed.

What's not covered

Johan K isn't responsible for outages, pricing changes, or policy changes from third-party services the site depends on, hosting providers, domain registrars, or similar. Ongoing hosting and domain costs, unless explicitly agreed otherwise, are the client's own responsibility to maintain.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in any meaningful way, this page gets updated and the date at the top reflects it. Anyone with an active project is notified directly rather than expected to check back.
